During XI plan period the Project Directorate for
Farming Systems Research (PDFSR) was established with focus on
farming systems research after re-naming the Project Directorate
for Cropping Systems Research (PDCSR) which became operational
during 2009. The AICRP on IFS formed after re-organising the
setup of AICRP on Cropping System. Now the Directorate
represents 74 centres under AICRP on Integrated Farming System
involving 31 main centres of IFS, 11 centres of Cropping Systems
Research and 32 on-farm units. In addition a network project on
Organic Farming with13 centres is also based at PDFSR.
